trust & privacy

Witnessed, not watched.

enwitness is built privacy-first, for the people it protects. Here’s exactly what it does, and, just as importantly, what it doesn’t.

The checkpoint records nothing

A beacon has no camera, no microphone, and no memory of who passed. It broadcasts a fixed identifier: like a room number spoken aloud. Your phone hears it; the beacon hears nothing back. It is, quite literally, a location witness only.

No GPS. No off-shift logging.

enwitness never tracks location. The only thing recorded is “near checkpoint X” during a rostered shift. Off shift, or switched unavailable, nothing is recorded at all, and that’s by design, not by setting.

Workers see themselves

Every worker sees the same record their manager sees, and controls an availability switch. Choosing unavailable shows as “no data”: a neutral state, never a fault, never red.

Every look is logged

Access to presence records is itself audited: who viewed what, and when. Workers see their own data; contracting companies see their teams; a building sees its building. Nobody sees across boundaries they shouldn’t.

Designed privacy-first

We describe enwitness as designed privacy-first rather than making legal compliance claims: the privacy rules differ by market, and we’d rather show you the design than wave a certificate. Data is held onshore where it matters, and we’re happy to walk your privacy officer through the details.
