Questions, answered straight.

The things people ask us most. Don’t see yours? Ask us.

Is this surveillance?

No. There’s no camera, no microphone, no GPS and no off-shift logging. A beacon broadcasts a fixed identifier and records nothing; the only thing captured is “near checkpoint X during a rostered shift.” Workers see their own record and control an availability switch.

Do workers have to scan anything?

No, that’s the point. During a shift, the phone notices checkpoints automatically and stays in the pocket. QR checkpoints exist for spots where a beacon doesn’t suit, but the everyday experience is passive.

Can residents or guests report problems?

Yes, a lobby QR lets anyone report a hazard or an issue with no app and no login. (One reporting QR is included on Starter; Professional buildings can run reporting points across the building: up to half their beacon count.) Reporters see “received,” never anyone’s data.

Do we need to rip out our existing QR or NFC tags?

No. They work on the same record, and you can upgrade to beacons checkpoint by checkpoint whenever it suits. Nothing to migrate.

How long does setup take?

A building can be live in a day: no wiring, no integrations, no IT project. Beacons are pre-configured: scan, stick, done. The connection pack includes a survey, calibration, onboarding and ten beacons.

How long does the beacon battery last?

Each beacon runs on its own long-life battery: no wiring and no mains power, which is why a checkpoint goes up in under a minute. When a battery starts to run low, the dashboard flags that checkpoint for attention well before it goes quiet, so a swap takes a moment and nothing is missed. Batteries are replaceable, and you’ll see the expected life for each beacon when you run the survey in the manager app.

How is it priced?

Per building, never per worker: unlimited workers on every plan. Starter is $99/month; Professional is from $149 for your first building and steps down as you add more. Homes and short-stay properties run on enwitness stays at $12/property/month. See pricing.

Who can see the data?

Workers see themselves; contracting companies see their teams; a building sees its building. Access to presence records is itself audited: who looked, and when.

Is my data held onshore?

Data is held onshore where it matters, and we’re happy to walk your privacy officer through exactly what sits where. We describe enwitness as designed privacy-first rather than making blanket compliance claims, because the rules differ by market.
